Recently the ISU congress rejected a proposal, to many peoples disappointment, of abolishment of judge's anonymity.

The latest action by the ISU is considered as a total disregard of the international outrage to its corruption, only demonstrating how the ISU as a sport organization was isolated, within its own old feudalism, from the rest of figure skating world.

But even if the ISU had accepted the proposal, it wouldn't have amounted to much. It wouldn't change the direction of the ISU and its dictatorship turning a deaf ear to the voice of figure skating communities.

It wouldn't matter whether the ISU voted in favor of abolishment of judges' anonymity or against it, unless the entire leadership was replaced. In fact, under 6.0 system, judges used to openly commit fraud. Judging scandal was a perennial companion to the sport. Never has the sport been free from one scandal or another.

Two things make Sochi Olympics unique. First, it was the ISU leadership that was reponsible for the fraud. Second, it was premeditated and systematically devised for a group of judges in Sochi to destroy the judging system itself by inventing bogus GOE and bogus PCS.

In 2013 through 2014, the ISU developed a scheme in which they shamelessly advocated Julia Lipnitskaia by dumping the established COP system to the sea of arbitrarism. Based on that set-up, they tried to sell skaters of their choice.

For the ISU it was a foolproof, because the whole show had been on through the Grand Prix. So they thought they could get away with Sochi showdown. But it didn't cut. It only shows how their plot was based on quicksand.

That whole script seems good enough to make everything look legitimate but casting the washed-up actors in a show from pro-Soviet judges' sabotage of old time may not.

Despite numerous scandals in the past, the sport itself has been resilient, thriving due to its idiosyncratic affinity to art. Figure skating dramatically evolved thanks to great skaters whose vision presaged the future and their timeless contribution paved the way of the sport and ultimately decided the sport as we know it today.

What sets Sochi Scandal apart from other scandals is the ISU leadership's involvement and its systematic deception. In the past, when the international politics played dirty , it was an individual judge or judges that were politically motivated.

Of course, judges involved in Sochi are too politically oriented in that they are like minded with an agenda that Russian should rule the ladies figure skating in post Kim, but under the COP system well established in Kim's tenure, their favorites were lacking of the kind of quality that the point number they earned should have reflected, that which viewers and spectators were accustomed to.

The future of figure skating looks bleak, not because the ISU didn't sanction the proposal intended for judging accountability but because the ISU shows no sign of self-reformation as long as Ottavio Cinquanta remains in his seat.

Sochi Scandal unequivocally deprived the sport of its most needed standards that could keep skaters up in their endeavor to excel. Unless we see another star rise to revive the sport from a state of coma, it is difficult to tell what will become of the sport in the years to come.

After Sochi Scandal, the ISU swiftly took advantage of the complaint filed by South Korean Skating Union. You ask a thief to lay a verdict over his own crime. But let's admit. The comedy set by the ISU and its disciplinary committee in fact looks more hilarious than Letterman's.

According to the Fox sports, the ISU has ruled that there was no judging bias in Sochi with regard to Adelina Sotnikova's win over Yuna Kim.

Did that surprise any? If the ISU were to admit its crime, why would it have done that at the first place?

Another comedy comes from the complaint itself. It appears that the complaint seemed centered on the legitimacy of a judge's conduct: Alla Shekhovtseva, wife of the former president of the Russian skating federation.

In the statement the ISU asserted that there is no conflict of interest "when the wife is judging and the husband, the Director General, is not officiating in the same competition." It also concluded that "The judging of [Shekhovtseva] was neither biased nor partial to the Russian skater Sotnikova. ... The Alleged Offender did not deliberately or negligently breach the rules; she responded reflexively when the skater raised her arms for an embrace."

Okay, are you ready to laugh?

So who cares who embraced who? Why the ISU bothers about that? Why South Korean official even argued that? What has it got to with Sochi Scandal?

It looks like a well rehearsed comedy by both sides. If the ISU didn't find any bias or corruption, then it's because they are the guilty ones. The nature of fraud in Sochi is not based on interpretive opinions by the ISU committee. It's self-evident.

The ISU disciplinary committee has no authority to judge the crime committed by the ISU itself. It's the very example of conflicting interest. The complaint was an opportunity for the ISU to redeem itself, not to play a judge.

When courtesy fails and good will receives scorn, then there is no option left but force. The current ISU passed the point of no return. It is time to boycott the ISU and all its events until Cinquanta and his corrupt officials are removed from their posts.

Since Sochi Scandal , figure skating judge is almost a synonym to corruption and disgrace. one may think those judges are a bunch of crooks, but believe or not, it often takes more than a decade to become an Olympic level figure skating judge.

To become a figure skating judge, you don't have to be a former figure skater. Figure skating judges come from various careers such as doctors, or CEOs, or lawyer. Some of judges may be former figure skaters or coaches, but others may have never skated in his or her life at all.

In competition, judges are to evaluate a skater against others, not against how he or she performed previously. So their task will be to rank the skaters based on comparative merits, so that their relative superiority or inferiority can be established among competitors.

In 6.0 system, when judges watched skaters' practices, they would determine the basic scores for each skater that would size him up. Is it prejudiced? No, it's actually a part of judging. In today's COP system, skaters can lay out their own basic scores. only judges ratify or penalize with GOE.

But the very nature of judging never changed. It is a sport where athletes invest their lifetime to be able to compete. It is impossible for a skater who was mediocre technically and artistically a few months earlier to suddenly become an overnight phenomenon. The example is Yuna Kim in 2008 through 2010. Kim's scores throughout the season are rising as she more matured and progressed.

Figure skating judging is based on common sense. People often say figure skating is subjective, implying that it can't be objectively quantified, but if a judge is honest with his own expertise there is little room for error. Skaters' move on ice evolves through their rigorous training and their personal inner development which takes years, and coaches, judges and experts are bound to notice their progress as they compete.

Sochi Olympics is a lie, corruption and fraud. What happened to Adelina Sotnikova in Sochi Olympics and Julia Lipnitskaia's sudden rising through the Grand Prix and European Championships, without any progress since her junior, were a systematic fix conspired by the ISU high ranking officials and several Pro-Russian judges.

A few changes of judging practice cannot resolve the current crisis of figure skating. The entire leadership of the ISU needs to be replaced.

It is a time for USFSA (US Figure Skating Association) to take action to rescue ladies figure skating from the hand of thieves in the ISU.

In the wake of the recent Sochi Scandal, the future of figure skating as a sport looks abysmal, steep in corruption and absence of leadership.

Then the heritage screeched to halt.

For the past decade, US figure skating suffered a long period of drought in medals.

Ironically the regression of US ladies skaters coincides with two major scandals -Salt Lake and Sochi. In appearance, the US ladies failed to keep up with the rigorous demand on technicality imposed by the COP system.

Kimme Meisner, Alissa Czisny, and Mirai Nagasu to name a few.

In the name of technical proficiency and accuracy the ISU systematically penalized Nagasu; Meisner and Czisny faded due to their injuries and jumping inconsistency.

While other countries have found way of getting along with that dreaded machine, America seems to have faltered.

Yuna Kim thrived in her tenure thanks to her supreme technicality balanced with artistic mastery. And Mao Asada and Carolina Kostner managed to survive.

In Sochi, however, the ISU revealed its true colors, turning the judging system to create and anoint a new figure skating, a monstrous hybrid of Russian juniorism and systematic fraud.

The ISU has culled many skaters in the name of qualities and accuracy; in Sochi the cumulative asset of quality and technical accuracy were dumped. That's why Sochi Scandal became a historic crime.

How many skaters in the past were victimized under the mathematical precision advocated by the ISU? Now where is such precision and accuracy in judging in Sochi?

I do not believe the COP hampered particularly US ladies skaters, nor do I think only US figure skaters suffered unjustly under the COP system.

But in retrospect, the long absence of US ladies skaters in top notch gave way to the corruption of the ISU, because the ladies figure skating history is a history of US ladies figure skating.

Sochi Scandal was a double edged crime: It's against the historic establishment of modern figure skating, and against the judging system itself; it denies its own value system within itself.

As a result, the modern figure skating that had started with Janet Lynn ended in 2013 Worlds.

Since, the ISU created a new figure skating characterized by Julia Lipnitzskaia and culminated in Adelina Sotnikova in Sochi.

But we cannot recognize it as a legitimate figure skating, because it is not. It may be Cinquanta's figure skating, or Russian figure skating if you will.

Sochi Scandal is a crime in which Cinquanta and his corrupt judges hijacked the sport and ran off to Siberia to repaint it red.

Now, it's a time to expel those criminals and restore the sport. It's not an issue centering on Yuna Kim; it's our heritage in jeopardy.

In his defense of anonymity of figure skating judges, Cinquanta insists that "nobody can detect which score has been decided by which judge" and proposes "simplifying the scoring system".

As apparent in his letter, Cinquanta has no clue of his position right now. As a chief culprit of Sochi Scandal, he ought to be impeached for his mishandling of the sport and corruption.

The letter shows how Cinquanta has brooded Sochi Scandal and the judging system has become an accessory to the ISU's systematic manipulation. Since 2013 Worlds the ISU internally shifted the judging policy, which not only opens to arbitrary judging but also denies the validity itself.

After having driven a knife into the very heart of the sport, Cinquanta turns a blind eye to why figure skating had to face the untimely death.

A week ago or so I wrote an article about the IOC's misquoting Yuna Kim. That incident, first reported by the Wire Magazine, apparently drew attention from other medias, including Philip Hersh from Chicago Tribune.

In an article titled "In this word game both the IOC and Yuna Kim lose" Hersh criticizes both the IOC and Yuna Kim.

According to Hersh, Kim appears to have given such an interview in which she complimented Adelina Sotnikova, and then later retracted it through her agency.

It is not clear in that article how verifiable Hersh's claim is.

However, for the sake of argument, let us assume that Hersh's claim is accurate that Kim indeed gave a few quotes as alleged.

In fact I too initially thought that Kim could have given such an interview after the game. Kim might have given a few compliments on Adleina Sotnikova given the situation.

But I disagree with Hersh.

It is not difficult to imagine in what circumstances Kim could have said a few words on Sotnikova if the quotes were actually given by Kim.

Kim, heartbroken and still dazed by that heinous event, was gracious enough to comment on the competition.

But did Kim ever mean to concede to the result or endorse that scheme of fraud? Do you have to ask that?

Any person with a grain of sanity could tell it's fraud; any unbiased viewer would writhe at the barbarism in a full swing.

Kim's courtesy was nothing but her tribute to the sportsmanship that just died and the ethics of athlete that was too rare to find in this day and age.

What follows is the IOC's shameless propaganda tactics to gloss over the worst figure scandal, attempting to make a great skater's dignified gesture to their advantage.

Hersh appears to point that after the IOC's article with Kim's quotes surfaced, Kim's agent protested claiming that they were not Kim's words. Of course not.

She didn't mean her good will to be a puppet of that fraud and a spokesman of hypocritical lie.

There are only two possible answers: either she gave something similar to that, not actually meaning to indicate or evoke any concession to the result, or she didn't say anything like that at all.

But let us be reasonable, shall we?

A reasonable conclusion is that if the interview was conducted in English, it is likely her choice of words might have been limited to or overly simplified by linguistic generality so that her courtesy could be manipulated or misrepresented.

But what is inexcusable is that the IOC knew well enough of Kim's position amidst the international uproar, and still had a gut to use her quotes to cover their nakedness.

So what did Kim exactly do wrong? Isn't it obvious that Kim didn't want to look conceding to the result except being gracious even in that fabricated competition.

Are we expecting Kim to voice her cynicism or a bad joke about Sotnikova, who apparently skated her heart out, to show the world how ill treated and displeased she was?

Kim cannot, shall not concede to the result, because it's fraud. Conceding to fraud is worse than committing the fraud itself.

What do we expect from Kim? Pulling off Surya Bonaly in 1994? Or showing the judges her middle finger?

Wasn't she so gracious enough not to betray her own displeasure in front of the live audience, well come to think of it, I don't know if they are particularly called audience, and accept the result for the moment?

Complimenting your foes is the greatest virtue as an athlete in the middle of what amounts to inexcusable savagery in the sport fraud.

At the same time, you are not supposed to concede to the crime committed. And that's what she refuses to do.

Kim may think she does not need that gold medal, but I do not think even Kim has right to say that she doesn't care any more so that people stop protesting, because crime shall not be tolerated even if the victim wants leniency. It is still crime and punishable and punitive action must be in force.

Moreover, Kim is not the only victim of Sochi fraud.
